White Ibis at waters edge, centre.
Feeding by the Samphire (an older post) - did you know it's a delicacy?
Same day, in the same location, and after a lot of walking, there were historic shipwrecks to be found.
If you'd like to see them too, I've just made a new post, Historic Shipwrecks of Homebush Bay on Snap Happy Online (my non-birding blog). Hope you'll visit there too, it's just a little click away.

beautiful birds!
Beautiful pictures of White Ibis, Carole.
The fourth picture is my favorite.
Have a great weekend, Irma
Nice pictures - I have some older images of ibis eating grubs from a sports oval - I found out they were once called the "famers friend" because of their diet.

Marvelous photos of the white Ibis. Amazing pictures !
Best regards, Synnöve
gorgeous. ( :
Carole, your white ibis are cool looking birds. Their heads remind me of the wood storks seen here in Florida. Great photos. Have a happy weekend!
They are simply gorgious pics, facially they maybe would not win a beauty contest, but they are stil a smart bird.
All the best Gordon.
graceful birds. (another b&w). :)
I would love to see a White Ibis sometime! They're a beautiful bird. Nice photos!!
Fantastic shots, Carole! Very prehistoric looking birds, especially with the black neck and head.
Wow, you did get some good images Carole. We have had the rare visit of the Glossy Ibis, although I have not been fortunate enough to see one yet.
Oh these are such wonderful birds. I've seen them at zoos before (which I never go to anymore). Thank you for the kind comment on the violin.
African Sacred Ibis, which is very common in Ethiopia, looks very similar.
What grand looking birds!!
What a cool looking bird. I like seeing birds that I probably wouldn't see if it weren't for great photos like yours.
Those beaks are amazing!!!
They are really beautiful creatures, Carole.
