Grey Butcherbird and water-lily

...had pulled into the Hunter Botanic Gardens for a lunch break en-route to Gloucester.  The Grey Butcherbird  I'm sure, was hoping for an offering.  It's hardly looking malnourished.

This Birds in Backyards fact sheet also includes their melodic voice.

Before leaving, a look at the lily-pond, with a few open flowers

I have never seen this bird, Carole, and what a beauty he is!

I just love your waterlilies, and I cannot wait to see them bloom here. That is, if the deer don't get to them. They will actually walk into our pond just to get to them!

Happy day to you!

Beautiful pictures Carole.
The gray shrike is really great, also the purple water lily is very nice sharp and has beautiful colors.
I have a question, it might be possible to use the google translator on your blog, now I have to copy each sentence and then translate.
Greetings Irma

The lilies are beautiful so is the bird. I went to listen to his voice. I like that you add the link so we are able to hear, as this bird only resides in Australia.
