Wonderful shots of the raven - I find them hard to photograph because they don't stay still very long.

Beautiful captures! The ruff on his neck is very nice. I wonder what he's looking for in the mud puddle?

Nice shots of the Raven. Do they ever jump in and bathe in those pools??

Its eyes...oh its eyes!! What a gorgeous bird.

It's been a busy week here in Texas, sorry for the delay in getting back to you to repay you a visit. Hope your weekend is going well.

Thanks everyone for your comments; glad you enjoyed the raven

JoAnn- bird photography is challenging. That means it's a big buzz when you get something worthwhile.

Gail Dixon; I took it that the raven was drinking rather than looking for something in the puddle. I'm assuming it's a rain-water puddle; I can't imagine them drinking salt water...

Montanagirl: I wonder if they jump in and bathe; I haven't seen it happen.

Karen: I'm seeing white eyes :)

Ha! It took me a double-take to even figure out what this was, with it's neck cranked all around like that, it's like its head is in the wrong position! And those eyes are something else--sort of unreal looking!

But once I caught on, I realized what a fascinating bird you had captured! Amazing photographs, as always, Carole! Some of my "new favorites!"

The first thing what caught my eye were the eyes.... Good shots!
