I've heard it said, when you're not sure which, Crow, or Raven, it's a Craven!
I'm guessing Australian Ravens, even though the eye colour differs in the last photograph. I think it's just the angle of the photo ... your thoughts?
Seen near Pelican Point, N.S.W.

What a special "Blackbird". Beautiful photos ! I wish you a sunny Sunday, Carol. Best regards, Synnöve
i would guess a type of raven based on his beardedness. i think his nictitating membrane was down in the last photo.
It would be a Jackdaw in the UK with that pale coloured eye.
Funny, I like the name Craven! I always thought the Ravens were larger in size than the crows. But, I am not an expert. Loved the photos. Have a happy week!
It looks like a raven to me...not that I have any inside info as to the difference! Some of your images look very much like illustrations for Edgar A. Poe's poem!
I love the name Craven, Carole.
I am quite sure this is a crow.
Ravens are very, very big birds with wingspans of about 4 feet.
Whatever it is, it is beautiful, and I love those eyes!
I don't know about the species, but it does have a raven look to it! Very majestic bird!
I use my blog dashboard to visit blogs, but I also have Feedly. You might double check my blog address and make sure it's http://www.briankingimages.com (anything else won't work). Some people were still using my old domain (heybjkoutdoors.com).
I'm not sure which it is Carole, but it reminds me of the Ravens in Edgar Alan Poe's poem.
It looks like a Jackdaw, very close. It is in the Crow family. Lovely pictures.
Your pictures intrigued me Carole. Take a look at Wiki - I think your bird is a crow.

Torresian crows have blue eyes.

The Qld ones that frequent our yard do!
Beautiful photos of a Raven, Carole.
The last two are my favorite

Excelente serie de imagens perfeitas.
Looks like a Raven to me. Nice photos of him!
Now here is where I have an advantage over you birding people - I can just say it is a big black thing and have done with it...
