Wetlands at Sydney's Olympic Park
where these waders had been seen on previous post - so what makes for a great bird hide?
White Ibis, Red-necked Avocet, and Black-winged Stilt
there were also these Chestnut Teal, way out there
.. and Grey Teal, caught napping, in the mid afternoon.

The Teals are beautiful, Carole! Wonderful post and photos. Happy Weekend!
Great post! I really like those Teal photos. I think I've seen the Blue-winged Teal, but neither of these you pictured here.
The Advocet has a nifty beak.

Hi Carole,
Beautiful pictures of all ducks and waders.
A very good weekend.
Greetings Irma
Your pictures are wonderful.
I am delighted shots on the water. These beautiful reflections on the water surface are fantastic.
Have a happy weekend :)
Yes Carole bird hides are great as long as your companions stay quiet and are of the same mindset as you; intent on seeing the birds in all their glory, perhaps taking a picture or two then leaving without slamming the door!
Brilliant the waders and ducks, great photos too.
Gorgeous photos! A wonderful place!

Very nice shots Carole! I especially think that avocet is very pretty. I saw some of these on the coastal birding trip that I went on recently. Very nice!
What gorgeous ducks! And I really like the Red-necked Avocets! I don't think I've ever seen those before.
