Back at the marshes

This part of the marshes I thought incredible ...all that green!

It was home to this wonderful water-bird I'd never seen before, a Pacific (white-necked) Heron.

and wonderful, shapely old trees

then, all that blue, and an Intermediate Egret.

I have not seen, nor heard of a white necked heron...so those two photos were a special treat.

Love the marshes! Australia is commonly portrayed as being very dry. I thought I had heard of all the heron species, but I was wrong. What a gorgeous bird! It's obvious where it gets its name!

Just beautiful Carole!
The old trees are quite impressive.
The heron is one I've not heard of either. It is certainly unique in its coloring.
Gorgeous shot of the graceful Egret against the sky!

Great shots of a nice place to capture birds and shapely trees. I have never heard of that heron either. The egret in flight against the blue sky is super.

That marshland looks like a great place to explore for birds and animals Carole, as long as there aren't crocs. Lovely heron shots you took.

Great pictures Carole, the (white neck) Heron is not here.

Great photos! I'm so surprised by how many sorts of herons there are in our world!

I saw an egret for the first time in my life last week! It was so beautiful, like your photo of it!
