Both these photos had been taken by cyber-friend Maggie from Nthn. Qld, whilst doing a short term working stint on Palm Island recently. Maggie writes: Palm
Island is near Ingham, in a group of islands called the Orpheus group.
Thanks Maggie for allowing me to share your great Brahminy Kite; I totally love it.

It
is a beautiful island with rainforest, eucs, paperbark swamp, beaches...
it was part of the mainland until the end of the last ice age so it has a lot
more wildlife than a coral quay... there are feral horses and pigs all
over the place but also possums, wallabies, bandicoots, pythons and lots of
birds. My bird list so far has 17 species on it and I am sure there are
many more.
Thanks Maggie for allowing me to share your great Brahminy Kite; I totally love it.

Wow, beautiful Kite! your friend has some awesome photos. Thanks for sharing. Have a happy day!
Quite an amazing photo of this gorgeous bird! Can't really tell the size of this bird, but looks similar to an eagle to me in color. Have a great weekend!
HI Carole wonderful bird. I have seen it flying over when my daughter lives near Etty BAyadn this is where a pair usually nest.
Splendid looking birds, great shots and a great post. Thanks Carole :)
Buenas capturas de esta bonita rapaz.Un abrazo
That's a gorgeous raptor! She took beautiful photos!
Wow what a beautiful bird. I've never seen a Kite in a tree only circling in the air. Palm Is is unfortunately famous for aboriginal unrest and a death in custody case.
Just be patient. You'll get your chance ;-)
Great shots by your friend!

A beautiful Bird of Pray.
glad you've each enjoyed seeing the fabulous Brahminy Kite from Maggie. Gert - I'll have to travel much further north along the coast before I get to be lucky enough to see one of these. Maybe 'one day' .....
Beautiful bird.
Wow ... what a beautiful pictures of this bird of prey. They are made in the rainforest by a geode friend of yours. Who do you know these pictures myself again :-)
