Those Oyster-Catchers have such looong ... beaks. I guess all the better for fossicking for tasty morsels in the shallows.

love the teal and the grebe especially. For some reason the teal reminds me a bit of a loon. I do love loons and used to hear them all of the time when I was a kid and we had a cabin on a minnesota lake. Maybe it is the red eyes. Do you have loons in Australia?

I think is amazing birds that swim... Amazing how the feathers aren't soaked with water. Nature is marvelous and perfect!
