To have the male fly into this crepe-myrtle had me really hoping to find him in the lens before he moved on! They seem to do a chatty/musical mine-sweep through the gardens, and then ....gone!
I just got lucky to have nabbed him; it doesn't always happen that way. I just think they're adorable, although he looks a little stern almost, or is he just deep in thought?
that was yesterday ...
and I got lucky again today, just once

You are a fabulous bird photographer. I love these wrens too. Once upon a time we used to have them and a red one visit our garden when we first moved here. But now I never see them just noisy miners.
Splendid little bird - maybe even superb!!
It seems you can post now - are the blogger issues sorted?
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Marvelous photos of this little bird with the blue and white and black feathers. Amazing !
Stewart, yes I tried Google Chrome and it was an instant fix. It's so good to be posting again and sharing a little of what I love to do
I was having Blogger issues too Carole - an annoying dialogue window would pop open everytime I clicked on anything. Fixed now, but it lasted a few weeks.
Great photos of such iconic Australian birds. Even the name - "Fairy-wren" - just sounds wonderful!
You did GOOD, Carole! He's so beautiful.
they just make me SMILE!
The pattern in the feathers on the cheek and crown shows well in your pictures. They have a very high frequency chirp.
Hi Carole,
Beautiful photos of a special bird.
This is not to be found in the Netherlands.
Of all the beautiful birds you have there the little Fairy Wren is my favorite! Glad you got so many photos of him.
Beautiful little bird (and he knows it too:) ) Thanks for commenting on my blog earlier!
The blue on his cheeks almost looks like scales on a fish. Beautiful.
i just love this beautiful bird. Wonderful photos and visitor. Have a happy weekend!
Oh Boy....my favorite bird on your site...thanks Carole! I think it is a beautiful bird!!!

These little fairy wrens are just amazingly beautiful, and i can imagine that they move on pretty quickly. You got some great shots Carole. i am looking forward to doing some of my first "birding" in the middle of feb. Am going to the Texas coast and going on a tour to look at Whoooping cranes and Sandhill cranes. Not sure yet about that LENSBABY.... it may be something that is not going to capture what i am after. Definitely do not yet know how to use it though! Hope you have an awesome weekend!!
Awesome! I love the different species of Fairy Wrens! They're so colorful. I wish we had a few here.
That's a really pretty bird! Good timing and wonderful photographs, Carole!
I am amazed at the variety of birds you have to photograph, Carole! What a delightful little creature this wren is, too. The backgrounds are perfect, too.
Such a cute little guy that you'd think he'd want to be in your photos!
He's gorgeous.
