Autumn .. my favourite time of year

On my side of the world, we're currently into Spring, but Autumn has long been the season I look forward to the most.  It being always, a welcome respite from searing Summers.  Because of our climate here, the only real colour change I can enjoy in my own garden, comes from some the crepe myrtles.

A trip way down south though to Buchan Caves, in Victoria/Australia, offered these three lovely photo opportunities.  Remembering the quietness, and being aware of a gentle breeze every now and then.  A rustle, and the magical play of colourful leaves slowly drifting to the ground, as if suspended by tiny parachutes.

Looking up into a beautiful Ginkgo tree, growing in the Japanese Gardens, Adelaide, Sth. Australia

Finally a vibrant red maple, at Mt. Wilson, in the Blue Mountains, just two hours from Sydney, N.S.W.

Linking to How Sweet The Sound,  for Pink Saturday.

Pretty pictures, pretty leaves! I'm not a big fan of autumn because I spend it dreading the oncoming frigid winter. Pretty silly of me - I should just enjoy the fact that it's no longer humid.

We are in autum here Carole, and last night we had our first snowfall. Not very much, but it is very, very cold here.
Love these wonderful autumn photographs.

Your Autumn is pretty much like ours here in the USA. All the same beautiful colors. wish we were going into spring here instead of winter. We are getting our first snowfall in Oct since 1925..4-8inches. I feel like our Autumn has been cut short! ~sigh!!!!

All of your photos are beautiful! I especially like the last one ~ we don't get very many reds in our part of the USA, mostly yellows, golds and orange. Nice to meet you!

I would like to invite you to my weekend linkup. It involves anything related to homemaking: recipes, sewing, decorating, crafts, DIY, a story about what you did today, etc! I know you'd be a great addition to the party!

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

I only like fall when the sun shines and the beautiful fall colors are showing off. Fall here is often rainy and windy but this year it was like an Indian Summer with quite some sunny and mild days. Looking at your Gingko tree photo, there was a gorgeous Gingko tree on my way to town, full of the brightest yellow color. Wished I had my camera with me. When I passed by a few days later, most of the leaves had fallen...
Your photo's are beautiful.
