What a beautiful bird to see Carole... fantastic images.
It's brought back a lovely memory for me... My son took some images of the birds in Sydney on his trip just to share with his old man... me.

Thanks for that xx

Noisy? Maybe I don't have it so bad after all. I have a crow's nest outside my window and there must be a youngn' in the nest. All day long, the soft constant...caw...caw...caw...
endlessly. Guess it could be worse. I could have cockatoos.

The sequence of shots looks like he's carrying on a conversion with you and then turns shy. :)
Wonderful captures Carole!
They may be noisy but I'm guessing still a lovely sight to see.

I can never quite get over the fact that these gorgeous birds are "not uncommon" there.

What a great bird to have come visit your yard. Probably not too enjoyable if they awaken at the crack of dawn, though.

Great photos. They are certainly noisy especially when a whole flock of them is flying over in the morning and again at evening.

Cockatoos are such beautiful birds, and to have them wild in your backyard is wonderful! Do you feed them?

Carole M. said...

Wanda I photographed these ones about a kilometre away from home when out walking one morning. They do though come to the huge old angophora tree near to my back boundary fence in the bush corridor too. I don't feed the birds anymore. When I have in years gone by it tended to also encourage species that you didn't really want to, like the India Mynah

It's a lovely bird to see, Carole!

They are absolutely lovely to look at, but you all sure have the largest danged birds just hanging out in your neighborhoods. I'm not afraid of birds like some people I know, but the size of some of these do make them a bit intimidating! :-)
