how comfortable would it be squatting on this cold metal light-post?
a view from the vehicular bridge at The Entrance, N.S.W. where these birds were photographed
this view is at the top end of the previous image location. Around here, I walked down steps and then to the left.
now, now, that's not playing fair. Looks like two caught the leftovers thrown by the fisherman, and the odd one out on the right, thought it'd be easy enough to snatch the catch!
so we go off in a huff now!
and Little Pied Cormorant speeds along doing its own thing

Love the pics. It must be a "pelican thing" of sitting on the light poles on jetties. Talk about taking the food out of your mouth.
The first picture of the pelican with the bad hair day is great!

Hi Caole,
Great photos of pelicans, beautiful environment it is there.
Kind regards, Irma
Wow, the pelican shots are awesome. And I love the cute Pied Cormorant!
Great photos - and I wish that I had stopped there, sometime, rather than just speeding over the bridge!
Great set of pics Carole, and interesting to see some of the areas where you go.
All the best Gordon.
Great photos!
Great series!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

Not just wonderful bird shots but those landscapes are gorgeous!
What a face in the top photo!
loved the close-ups on the pelicans! such cool birds! but every time you post one of your beautiful cormorants, it steals the show for me. :)

HI Love all the shots f the Pelicans especially the 3 fighting over food. The Little Cormorant and shadow are stunning. Margaret
Beautiful set of photos. Love the Pelican close-up!
Fabulous shots!
Your pelicans look a bit different than our pelicans...ours are brown with no pink beak area. Lovely birds...and of course you know 'their beaks can hold more than their belly can'.
Hugs,
Jan
I do love that first photo of the pink bill and bad hair...all are really great captures!!
These are fantastic, Carole! That portrait of the pelican is outstanding! Really nice job!
Those pelicans have character. I like the first one's hairdo and the one stealing the food is a great shot. It is about 60 years ago since I have been to The Entrance
WOW!! SMASHING these pictures!
What is this incredibly beautiful. I'd like to be there :-) here
These all look like such "happy" birds! Love that first one with the funky hair-do! :-)
