Subject to an email today from my youngest daughter, Natalie 'there is an egg inside my egg!'
I wrote back, that's amazing, is it for real?
It's real! Cracked it open for egg on toast and was about to throw the shell away and noticed the little egg in the bottom!
Have you ever heard of it before? Not in my 65 years .... so it was worth a blog post.
Now I want to know how it happened.
Later addition: Thanks to Sandra G. for emailing me this link from June this year in the U.S. with a similar egg phenomenon and explanation.

Wow, now that is strange. I would not have a clue as to how it how happened, but it is neat.
How cool is that.
I've not seen this either. When we had hens in my childhood, we sometimes had eggs laid without a shell, just their rubbery membrane. Double yolkers occasionally too. I'm guessing there would just be a yolk inside.
That remains a mystery chicken eggs * laughs *
I think that must be a very rare occurrence. Life is full of such strange things. It is like those twins you hear about where one is born with the other one inside. Thanks for sharing. I shall probably never, ever see such a thing again.

How cool! I love it when Mother Nature has a trick up her sleeve.
Oh, that is a first for me too. I would want to preserve that somehow.
I've never seen or even heard of that before.
When you find out tell us! That is kind of a pretty picture. When I saw in on the list pics, I thought is was a flower/rose.

Definitely worth a post Carole .... now I'm wondering ... did you cook the baby egg?
What a delightful find, Carole.
