Fridays Fences

Sandstone and wrought-iron, to one side of The Garden Palace gate at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney.

Later addition via Fast Facts/Royal Botanic Gardens, indicating size of the Estate, maybe offers some comprehension of how easy it might be to actually arrive at one of the many given gateways, and find that the grounds have been closed while you were enjoying the surrounds:

Size of Estate: 64 hectares
Size of Garden: 30 hectares
Size of Domain: 34 hectares

Whoa! I wouldn't even be tempted to climb that beautiful fence. (We got locked in to a water park once...came in a back door, hadn't even realized we were supposed to pay admission, thought it was just an ordinary park -- and then when we started out found out that all the gates were locked. We found a night watchman, who was nice.

Beautiful wrought iron in this gate, Carole. I am working up a series on specific examples of WI throughout the CBD.
