Jacky Winter and Red-browed Firetail are here

Just some of the birding convoy pulling up to check out the trees along the side of road before heading further on a private property (permission granted).  Car-pooling helps to downsize the number of vehicles heading out each morning

Note: Under hot debate in this region of Gloucester is the approval for local coal-seam gas leases having been granted.  What can I say; this isn't meant to be a political forum, but it just seems 'criminal' to invade such a beautiful, pristine part of our state.

Lovely shots of both the Jacky Winter and Firetail!
The firetail is quite beautiful with those vibrant red details.
I so agree with intruding on this lovely place.
Here they restore where they've been but the views are then dotted with the gas pumping wells.

Let me start by saying what great shots you have of the Jacky Winter and those incredible Red-browed Firetails Carole! Striking birds those Firetails! I tried to go to the Birds In Backyards fact sheet but the link didn't work.

I am confused about the gas leases. You said at the beginning of the post that this was on private property? So putting wells there is up to the landowners? We are having the same debate here in the U.S. over hydraulic fracking for underground gas but here they gas companies want to do their dirty work on public land!

Beautiful birds, both of them! And obviously they have a wide fan base!

(I am sorry about the gas leases. Not good news at all.)

glad so many enjoyed seeing these new birds too. Larry, sorry the link to the fact sheet wasn
't happening for you. I tried it just now and it still goes there. Hope you might be able to access it another time perhaps. Yes, this was a private property, but the gas leases granted are in the 'region' of Gloucester overall, as opposed to this specific private property.
