Eastern Rosella


It was late this afternoon and two rosellas were tucking into the crepe-myrtle seedheads.  One wasn't quite in the right place to photograph so I'm doubling up with two of the same bird.  When I edged along for a better position to take more pics, you guessed it, off they went.

Those birds have such amazing colours Carole. I wouldn't blame anyone for wanting to get lots of shots of them and you definitely took a couple of good ones there.

We don't see the Eastern Rosellas up this far. I've only seen them on the Mornington Peninsula.
We do get the Pale Headed Rosellas up here. I photographed one in our yard when the Grevillea went to seed last year..
