Chestnut Teal

Mr and Mrs Teal, I assume

A medium-large dabbling duck, i.e. they sieve through the surface water

it was very windy on the day and the water choppy,

but they soldiered on, into the little breakers

Location: The Entrance, N.S.W.

Dabbling...I learned something today. Never considered why the term was used before.

Love the male's red eye just visible in the first shot!! They're such neat looking birds with marvellous rich colours - I feel like I'm looking at the real thing!
