White-browed Woodswallow

presumed female, or immature (my current desktop image)

male at top branch

It was during my September Macquarie Marshes trip at Warren, inland N.S.W., that I saw these birds for the first time.  The location is depicted more, this post In search of water, nature's bounty.  While  photographs in that post were difficult because of light entering the camera in the mid afternoon, to suddenly find these birds way up behind me, with the sun on them, just made my day (again).  Always treats in store, if only we just find the time to go look for them.

You might also enjoy the White-breasted Woodswallow in previous post here.

Well Done! They're hard little blighters to catch sitting still - it's always my luck to see them swooping and gliding. All very nice, but hell to photograph!!!

Ah, the joys of spring and the sun shining on the objects we want to photograph. Heaven, for sure!

Super shots of the swallows. It is rare to catch a bird with the correct light. I didn't realise swallows were so colourful.
