Kangaroos

Decided to drive down to the conservation area this morning, a quick check to see if any birds I could capture --------- but I picked up some 'roos to share instead.

Carole I love these photos of the roos, and will never get over the fact that they just run around in the open. So great. Have never seen one of these "standing " on all 4s, looks like feet. also the joey is so cute. Lucky you! All you fine in Texas is skunks... well maybe a few more things that that,

Love these, Carole! They look like teddy bears with long ears and legs! Are there different species of kangaroos?

They're so commonplace in many parts of OZ I don't always give them the attention they deserve!! Loving that joey!!

@Brian - there are many different types of kangaroo - of course my fave is the 'Big Red'!!

Very cool! They look so benign, but I've heard they have a ferocious hind-leg kick.

there are various in differing parts of Australia; these are the Eastern Grey

yes 'don't judge a book by its cover' - be cautious. Tourists want to hand-feed them and can get away with it, but you just never know; one male may become feisty and those claws are real dangerous!

These are so fun...I would love to be able to see these cute critters whenever. I have heard that as cute as they are, that they can show a mean streak and become dangerous. So funny with their short front legs and their gigantic back legs...nature is amazing!!
