Aussie icon; the kangaroo...

Kangaroos frequent an area nearby to where I live, and even though my drive there yesterday was in search for wattles in flower; I could hardly pass up on taking these snaps for you.

Can't you tell, it was the most perfect Winters day to be out and about
Missing your mates?  They're down the back there see ..

wondering if it's the right moment to cross the road...those are watsonias growing wild along the roadside

Carole I am not sure what wattles are, but I absolutely love these kangaroo photos. They look so personable, and not very fearful of you at all. How is your temperature there in your winter months.?

Jeanne, the wattle (flower) is our national floral emblem. It is the 'gold' segment of our green & gold theme (Olympic team colours). Will be making up a wattle-post by end of day. Temps, down to 6 degrees celcius at 8 am this morning; much warmer than some parts of our state.

I'm astounded at how many of them there are, in those shots of the park! I thought maybe they were like deer, and there might be a dozen...
