Magpie Lark (aka Pee-Wee)
found attached to a bicycle that had been stored, in a farm-shed. Seems the bird/s have built upon the same nest perhaps over successive years.
from a previous post that included the Olive-backed Oriole; she had been doing the final finishing touches of weaving around the top edges of this nest
and finally, the beautiful little Jacky Winter in such a weeny nest.
Beautiful are the photos!

ReplyDeleteAmong the most incredible nests in the avian world are those of the various weaver birds - and once you find them it's both easy and fascinating to watch the birds engaged in construction. Interesting subject for a blog post Carole.
ReplyDeleteadorable! they work so hard...
ReplyDeleteBonitas capturas.Un abrazo
ReplyDeleteThis is neat. Don't think anyone has ever focused on nests before. Nests are an amazing creation by birds. Think if we had to construct a nest from sticks and twigs. It wouldn't look as nice as the bird's.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots on the nests! Some of those nests are very impressive!
ReplyDeleteLovely homes for your feathered friends!
