Hickeys Falls

From south-west of Coonabarabran about 42 klms, on the way to Gilgandra, N.S.W.   Drive in just off the Oxley Highway, and take a short walk to find this special spot.

There were a few free-campers already set up with their tables and late afternoon drinks and nibblies ...what a way to end a day on the road.

first thing that took my eye was the colour of the water, and the reflections

it wasn't easy negotiating all the rocks

tread carefully!

the 'falls' is further ahead but working out which is the best way to get closer was challenging

stepping stones

where the rocks are darkened is the falls

  11. Looks like a nice place! I bet you wouldn't be able to walk that path some months of the year! The waterfalls in SE QLD are just little trickles right now too.

  12. An interesting and picturesque location even if the "falls" are hardly worth risking a broken ankle for. But I know how it is when you've got a camera; you just have to push on to get that extra shot - me too.

thanks for visiting Snap Happy Birding, and for leaving a comment; I can still see them. Now both my blogs are resting in idle mode. It was time to give other things priority, even though I miss my regular blogging and the feedback that came my way over the years. Take care.
