while birding along The Boys Walk, Cooranbong, N.S.W.

It was just jesterday morning, with a cool start and grey skies, but what better to warm the cockles of your heart, than to spot a beautiful little Eastern Yellow Robin, first up.

walking the track, a 2 km. route, with the occasional jogger, and cyclists to contend with.    They hadn't been expecting two women standing on the pathway just around the bend, binoculars fixed to their eyes and cameras at the ready.  All cheery, g'days exchanged.

Dora Creek

then a clearing came up through the trees on one side, with Straw-necked Ibis out there

Grey Fantails were flitting about catching insects on the fly and then landing back on the fence, just long enough for a photo shoot

out on another clearing, quite a number of Superb Fairy Wrens; delightful little birds.  Of course I want to capture the blue-boy!

but not complete without the Jenny-wren (female)

Oh my word! So many beautiful birds, none of which I have seen in the wild. How lucky you are to see all of them in this great birding place.

I always enjoy the beautiful birds that you encounter on your walks.
Most birds are not in the Netherlands.
Well done, Carole.

You and your birding pal had a lovely time I can tell. A fine selection of birds there Carole, and they are all so colourful. Straw necked Ibis look rather special, maybe because we don't have any ibis species in the UK, just as vagrants.

Hi Carole,
Unfortunately I only see four pictures. In photo 5 I only see white faces surfaces with an edge. The first photo of the yellow bird and nature are very very nice and visible :-)

What a terrific looking environment to explore! Superb images of birds that are both foreign yet familiar! Different species than we have here, but similar to some we see often.

Very nice photography, Carole!

Thank you for a nice walk.

What great pictures, Carole. Precious Ibis bird and blue feathers. They are birds that live where I do not see them and it's always a pleasure to visit your blog.
