walking the track, a 2 km. route, with the occasional jogger, and cyclists to contend with. They hadn't been expecting two women standing on the pathway just around the bend, binoculars fixed to their eyes and cameras at the ready. All cheery, g'days exchanged.
Dora Creek
then a clearing came up through the trees on one side, with Straw-necked Ibis out there
Grey Fantails were flitting about catching insects on the fly and then landing back on the fence, just long enough for a photo shoot
out on another clearing, quite a number of Superb Fairy Wrens; delightful little birds. Of course I want to capture the blue-boy!
but not complete without the Jenny-wren (female)

I especially like the Yellow Robin - they are very beautiful and I still haven't managed a photo that I am really happy with. Yours is great! Nice photo of Dora creek too.

What a lovely place for walking and birding. Love the blue Fairy Wren.
Oh my word! So many beautiful birds, none of which I have seen in the wild. How lucky you are to see all of them in this great birding place.
I always enjoy the beautiful birds that you encounter on your walks.
Most birds are not in the Netherlands.
Well done, Carole.
Lovely and beautiful, the Straw-necked Ibis are my favourites.
Epic bird sightings!!! That Ibis is gorgeous as are the other ones. This looks like a dry tropical adventure I wouldn't mind exploring:) Thanks for the share!
I gasped at the fairy wren and made my dog bark. lol Really superb bird images. I always look forward to visiting here because I see birds I wouldn't be able to see otherwise.
Wow, what a lovely walk that must have been. Such terrific birds along the way!
What a beautiful place. Great capture of the Superb Blue Wren male, I can never manage a clear photo of one! Beautiful photos.
Hi Carole,
the Eastern Yellow Robin is so cute ! But also the Blue Boy. A beautiful walk.
Best regards, Synnöve
You and your birding pal had a lovely time I can tell. A fine selection of birds there Carole, and they are all so colourful. Straw necked Ibis look rather special, maybe because we don't have any ibis species in the UK, just as vagrants.
Love that sweet Robin, and the Straw-necked Ibis. This whole post is just wonderful!
I am just in love with your bird images...you have the most interesting and beautiful birds in your part of the world...thanks for sharing them with us who don't see lovelies like the Fairy Wren.
loved to see your images of Straw-necked Ibis. Can´t remember seeing it before. And the other small ones are gorgeous.
The fairy wrens are so pretty- love the blue. Pretty scenery too.
Love the little Yellow Robin Carole. It would good next to our Robin with a Red Breast.{:))
Hi Carole,
Unfortunately I only see four pictures. In photo 5 I only see white faces surfaces with an edge. The first photo of the yellow bird and nature are very very nice and visible :-)
Chorus .... now I can see all the pictures!
What a beautiful bird I see appear here.
This is great to see. Thank you for sharing Carole :-)

What a terrific looking environment to explore! Superb images of birds that are both foreign yet familiar! Different species than we have here, but similar to some we see often.
Very nice photography, Carole!
Thank you for a nice walk.
thanks to everyone for your comments; I LOVE reading your messages. Glad HELMA that you got to see all the images eventually; who knows what gremlins visit cyberspace too.
What great pictures, Carole. Precious Ibis bird and blue feathers. They are birds that live where I do not see them and it's always a pleasure to visit your blog.
A kiss from Spain
So I will imagine you out walking on your bush walk here! Love the ibis and really love those little fairy wrens. I am inspired
