Various birds, inland, N.S.W.

...a long while back there used to be a saying relating to clothing items, that 'blue and green, should never be seen'. Well on these Red-rumped parrots, it looks pretty special I think.

feeding on Capeweed, (daisy-chain nostalgia from childhood years), from the Cape Province of Sth. Africa

Yellow-rumped Thornbill

has found some little treat

Apostlebird owning an impressive mud-nest; it almost appears like plaited coir from here.

Double-bar Finches basking in the late afternoon sun near to a little waterhole

Believed to belong to the Spotted Bowerbird.  A couple days later it had been ransacked, apparently by a Bowerbird opponent; it's what they do.

that sign means something to someone obviously; and there's a little something on the sign too

that looks to be, a Hooded Robin.

Rufous Songlark (I think it is)

White-browed Woodswallow

  7. such beauties! the double-barred finches brought back a memory from a lifetime ago. back in wisconsin, i had a huge finch cage. had a pair of 'owl finches' that were these birds. loved them. sad to think your domestic birds are netted and shipped off to america to become cage birds.

thanks for visiting Snap Happy Birding, and for leaving a comment; I can still see them. Now both my blogs are resting in idle mode. It was time to give other things priority, even though I miss my regular blogging and the feedback that came my way over the years. Take care.
