let's see if there's anything down in the water ... this way, at Cooranbong Park
a perfect spot for a few resident ducks
a charming Pacific Black duck
When nothing offered it turned around ... sorry Pacific Black Duck, but it's not supposed to be a good thing to feed you. Go find what you're meant to be eating. It headed back out to its mate ..
Mallard; I'd not seen one before, and known to be, a dabbling duck.
It was having a great time preening and all the while spinning around in circles. I'm sure it was showing off to me; well I like to think so.
Sharing with Wild Bird Wednesday
Of course it was showing off to you, it wanted to be on Wild Bird Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteHi Corole,

Wonderful impressions of this park and the ducks. Great !
ReplyDeleteNice photo's ....ducks are so lovely to photograph....but that first shot is in my opinion the best.

greetings from Greece Carole. The pacific duck is a real stunner. Catch up with you soon.
ReplyDeleteOh Carole, you do have such birds down under. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGreat captures- and I've also always believed it is not a good thing to feed the ducks. That first duck shot is super!
ReplyDeleteI know this is all about the ducks but I like that bridge photo. There is a meme for bridges somewhere out there, on Friday I think. This would go nice onto it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty park. I love ducks, great captures!
ReplyDeletejust love those handsome black ducks!
ReplyDeleteHI Carole...It nipped your ankles??? Sorry but I laughed : )!!

ReplyDeleteYes, I think he was showing off for you!
ReplyDeleteGreat series on the park, Carole! Beautiful shots of the ducks! Have a happy day!
ReplyDeletethanks for your comments. To grammie g/Grace - no it was just the way I'd written "I didn't think he was planning to nip me around the ankles" ------- the duck didn't come up on the bank to do that at all, but for a moment I might've wondered why he was headed so intently for me. Just looking for a handout ...
ReplyDeleteGreat collection of ducks Carole...are you a duck whisperer???
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jan
The Black Duck is very handsome! Mallards are a dime a dozen here. Most people pay them no mind. We get some Mallard/Black Duck hybrids, too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ducks!
ReplyDeleteThose Black Ducks are so pretty. Nice photos!!
ReplyDeleteBridges are so nice.
ReplyDeleteThey give us wonderful views and may take us on new adventures.
Great photographs!
Such sweet birds in banner image...have I said that before ;) Lovely ducks, always seems like they are smiling.
ReplyDeleteSorry for my tardiness. Monday my bad knee gave way to a full Medial Meniscus tear and I am having Arthroscope done to help ease pain this Tuesday...doing life ;)
Love the bridge and have to wonder if you ever see alligators in these waters. I was just watching planet earth and an alligator attack on a ?? deer at the waters edge. The alligator submerged before his attack, just like the alligator did when i was photographing it at the swamp . Good that I left when i did!
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanne, it kind of looks like alligator-county doesn't it? But definately NOT. No alligators in Australia at all. Crocodiles though are only in far northern Australia (not down in N.S.W. where I live). The crocodiles need warmer body temperatures to digest their food I've read, so that dictates their locality too.
