They are classically great birds - they have some much character!
Sow reply caused by being in central Australia - birding a little thin, but when you see the red centre for the first time in ten years, who really cares!
Hi Carole Great set of shots. when I am at my daughters home in Australia, one comes in the evening and sit on her fence, I then make the call of the Kookaburra and more and more come to sit on the fence. It is quite funny to watch adn my grandchildren love it. Have a great weekend. Margaret
I have actually seen some of these. One snatched a bit of my son's food as we dined out of doors at the Sydney zoo and flew off with it! He was around 5 at the time and we were visiting from the U.S. It's a moment we will long remember and laugh about!
Your photos are so "close-up" and spectacular, Carole!
thanks for visiting Snap Happy Birding, and for leaving a comment; I can still see them. Now both my blogs are resting in idle mode. It was time to give other things priority, even though I miss my regular blogging and the feedback that came my way over the years. Take care.
