Shots taken at a distance with teleconverter lens; kookaburra was high in the angophora tree. That much I could see, and on closer inspection with the photos now in my computer, seems it'd just had a bath and was now going through after-bath preening rituals.

Wonderful shots! Every time I think of a Kookaburra, I think of my grade 4 class. I had a teacher all the way from Australia. She liked to play the auto harp and taught us many songs including,
