Where old meets new ... a little of yester-year happening. Power pole right to the home-quarters, and satellite-dish for pre-paid t.v. What might the original settlers thought of this modern-day innovation?
This was right close to where we'd started venturing into Ferntree Gully; a magical setting.
That old tree is neat. Here they are sometimes called a "widow maker".

I experienced the old settings since our province was reached by developments only lately, and I can compare the fast pace in everything, am glad we were able to adjust. But transition of the deepest you is not as fast, and those not prepared have maybe culture shocks and commit big life mistakes, haha! I adapted well, thanks. T
ReplyDeleteThat dead tree is beautiful in photo compositions, but maybe it is dangerous in the area.
Looks like you are out in the backcountry Carole! And how awesome to be close to that lovely area with the mushrooms! Looks like fun. Bet the original settlers would be amazed at all of the changes.

I doubt the original settlers would have found much time for TV. That tree looks mighty dangerous to me!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful glimpse into yester-year Carole. I quite like the power pole and satellite dish because to me it says connection. I know from growing up in rural South Australia how isolated these farm residences can be ... today with tv, computers and of course electricity it's a different story.

What a large 'bare' tree...I assume it is on it is dead or dying. Does make a great contrast to the rest of the area!
