Santa's Silhouette Fence

A two hour train journey into Sydney yesterday, to soak up some Christmas Spirit in Queen Victoria Building. Maybe these photos will sneak in as a fence with a difference, for Fridays Fences this week.

The exterior constructed of black wrought-iron, and laser-cut-outs perhaps, between layers of vellum-like material, depicting a spectacular fairy-tale garden.

You maybe can just make out the swarovski crystal chips embedded. Very glitzy, and very eye-catching, the whole wonderful structure. The shadow ... it's Santa sitting on the other side!

Shame I wasn't able to get Santa in the photo; this was a pay to have your photo taken with Santa venue, and I don't think they would've appreciated me poking my camera in there too.

  1. This is beautiful and so elegant! Santa, here, usually has something rustic - I like this crystal laden cage much better!

  3. Isn't it lovely what they have done with the Queen Victoria Building?

Yes, Lake Burrambeet id directly opposite the Ballarat Botanical Gardens. I was there when it was dry as well, I have also been there when there was so much water, there were great puddles on the lawns with swans and their small cygnets swimming in the puddles.

  15. What elegance! At first glance, it reminded me of a beautifully embellished ball gown, Carole! I wish I had some of your photographic opportunities.

  18. What a beautiful fence to enclose Santa! Maybe you could have captured him by himself, or maybe they would have been upset about your taking photos without paying. The whole set-up is so much more elegant than the Santa's House here...

  20. Don't you want to try this design for your papercutting Carole? ;-)
This is the first time I "see" Santa enclosed in such a beautiful fence. I think you can call this a fence or maybe a cage..... Anyway it's truly beautiful.

thanks for visiting Snap Happy Birding, and for leaving a comment; I can still see them. Now both my blogs are resting in idle mode. It was time to give other things priority, even though I miss my regular blogging and the feedback that came my way over the years. Take care.
