I've never had a good look at this bird in the wild - it's really handsome! Apparently they are excellent snake-killers, so there's a sense of camaraderie about this bird living alongside of us and offering 'protection' (not that I fear or wish harm on snakes).

Phil, it's possible either of the flight photos may happen to be the Whistling Kite which was in flight there too; my apologies if this is what I've done and confused you. You're just one up on me to pick that up....
