After yesterdays hot-bird snaps inland, a step to the city limits now, with some cool coots.

    Our American Coots are starting to show up in our area for the winter. They are quite similar in appearance to yours.

  16. Around here they say "If you haven't seen a coot today then you haven't been birding"; they're absolutely everywhere. They have some behaviours that make them far from cute coots, but for today lets just admire their beauty and your excellent pictures.
