Colour me purple

Wild growing and toxic to livestock.  This  introduced weed, Patersons Curse, is also known as Salvation Jane.  Dept. of Primary Industries informs that this weed is native to Mediterranean Europe, and northern Africa.

Bucketfuls of flower bunches have been sold in markets labelled Macquarie Bluebells, amongst other quaint names - people are enterprising!

"weeds are flowers too, once you get to know them" (A. A. Milne)

  1. We have Pattersons Curse here too Carole. Looks awesome covering entire hillsides but a nightmare for the farmers affected by it. So easily spread too.

  21. Belles et mauvaises herbes vont souvent ensemble pour mieux nous tromper, mais le respect des plantes et de 'Dame Nature' nous oblige à les observer et les connaître!

thanks for visiting Snap Happy Birding, and for leaving a comment; I can still see them. Now both my blogs are resting in idle mode. It was time to give other things priority, even though I miss my regular blogging and the feedback that came my way over the years. Take care.
