Striking little birds
Birds in Backyards informs that this bird is the only Australian member of the Flowerpecker family.
I'd never heard of a Flowerpecker before (had you?), so I'll have to try and remember that one! By putting that name up for the title of this post, hopefully it stays in my head for when I need to bring it to the fore sometime. Geez, now who can I impress...?

I was thinking thats a Mistletoe bird - and it was!
ReplyDeleteWe got really good views of the platypus right at the start of the visit to the lake - but of course my cameras were still in the bag as it was a bit of a walk in! Out on the lake the couple we saw were just too distance - there are shapes in the picture I know are platypus - but nobody else would!
