Norah Head

Yesterday morning and time enough to put in a couple hours photo-shoot down the coast. It was windy and the ocean had plenty of movement. What did I choose to photograph and share...?

Maybe not what you'd expect at 'the beach'.  Australian native, Flannel flower; and it was a matter of hoping the photo would turn out as the small spray of flowers would shift back and forth in the winds, and in and out of the shadows at the same time.  This was growing up on the headlands beside the walking path to the lighthouse.

Down these steps and onto the sand now

looking back up at the lighthouse dated 1903

the tops of the Banksias (Australian native) are blowing in the wind

I love the colours and textures in the rocks

and the patterns in the water

...interesting little dried salt pans.  If I'd been the true photographer I might've gotten down on the wet rocks and photographed this from a differing angle to try and pick up the way they sparkled

and not to dissapoint you; a wader!  Sooty Oystercatcher

thanks for visiting Snap Happy Birding, and for leaving a comment; I can still see them. Now both my blogs are resting in idle mode. It was time to give other things priority, even though I miss my regular blogging and the feedback that came my way over the years. Take care.
