in amongst the mangroves
a lot of hard lighting to deal with but that eye sure stands out doesn't it?
I haven't the faintest! Any suggestions?
Later addition: Just this morning the answer was emailed to me, Yellow (Little) Thornbill. Thanks Alan M.!

What a bird. The silvered eyes are camouflaged, well taken Carole.
ReplyDeleteThose little, fast moving green birds in dense trees certainly present a challenge Carole. I think you took a great shot there all things considered. Can't help with the ID of the other though - sorry.
ReplyDeletewow! great eyeliner! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots Carole. Are there alot of crocodiles in the mangroves. There sure are in Florida. Love this!
ReplyDeleteJeanne; no there's not a lot of crocodiles around there; thankfully, there's none that I know of. It sure looks like crocodile country doesn't it? I can assure you if there were, that I wouldn't be standing there! I'll stand around for ages waiting, watching for birds, but never in crocodile territories.
ReplyDeleteThe eye looks painted on...pretty little bird!
ReplyDeleteI like the nice shade of olive green he has in addition to the silver eye.
ReplyDeleteGreat Silvereye photo! I'm not sure about the other bird - resembles a Fairy Gerygone except you are much too south to reasonably expect that. Maybe some other Gerygone or Thornbill species?
ReplyDeleteSuperb photos! The Silvereye reminds me of our White-eyed Vireo. No clue as to your mystery bird.
ReplyDeleteSo well camouflaged, it nearly looks like a fruit hanging from the tree! I'm surprised you saw it there! What an amazing little find!
