The Australia Robins really do take the prize in the World Robin Stakes if you ask me - and I've been lucky enough to see Robins in Europe and the USA.
I hope he sticks around for you. I had one here about a week ago but he moved on. Other years we have had them for the whole winter/spring. Even sighting him for a moment, that flash of red certainly lifts one's spirits.
Your first photo reminds me of old old photos showing women wearing their small pillbox hats tipped onto their foreheads. Very spiffy! And I understand how thrilled you were to spot this beauty. Glad you were able to get such great photos.
Thank you for introducing me to a new Robin species! I hope to see one in person and will consider myself fortunate if I could take photographs of it as wonderful as yours.
So beautiful!! Sorry I'm behind in my blogging. We've been so busy with various projects...that'll continue for another couple weeks. Hang in there with me. I'll be reading your blog...
thanks for visiting Snap Happy Birding, and for leaving a comment; I can still see them. Now both my blogs are resting in idle mode. It was time to give other things priority, even though I miss my regular blogging and the feedback that came my way over the years. Take care.
