White-browed Woodswallow

presumed female, or immature (my current desktop image)

male at top branch

It was during my September Macquarie Marshes trip at Warren, inland N.S.W., that I saw these birds for the first time.  The location is depicted more, this post In search of water, nature's bounty.  While  photographs in that post were difficult because of light entering the camera in the mid afternoon, to suddenly find these birds way up behind me, with the sun on them, just made my day (again).  Always treats in store, if only we just find the time to go look for them.

You might also enjoy the White-breasted Woodswallow in previous post here.

  1. Well Done! They're hard little blighters to catch sitting still - it's always my luck to see them swooping and gliding. All very nice, but hell to photograph!!!

thanks for visiting Snap Happy Birding, and for leaving a comment; I can still see them. Now both my blogs are resting in idle mode. It was time to give other things priority, even though I miss my regular blogging and the feedback that came my way over the years. Take care.
