Walking Circular Quay to Lavender Bay - Part Three

native plantings along walkways are bird-attracting; this one a flowering grevillea

walking down now to the front of the grey apartments

they have this view

a lovely old home up there, just as we're about to

go through the tunnel under the rail line, and up those steps

in view now is the home of Wendy Whitely, wife to the late Brett Whitely, artist

we have come to see Wendy's "Secret Garden".  It's one she was instrumental in creating from a section of land at the front of her home which had belonged to N.S.W. Rail.  Buried in the undergrowth were old rail carraiges, and more.  It has since evolved into a beautiful public place, open year round for all.

overlooking Lavender Bay

Part four, we shall see more of the gardens

Zauberhafte Fotos und die Sommersaison ist beendet, sehr schade, aber auch deine Vögel gefallen mir.
Wenn ich wieder mehr Zeit habe, dann werde ich an dem Bird Projekt auch wieder teilnehmen.

thanks for visiting Snap Happy Birding, and for leaving a comment; I can still see them. Now both my blogs are resting in idle mode. It was time to give other things priority, even though I miss my regular blogging and the feedback that came my way over the years. Take care.
