A small wren family were seen hopping around the scrub boundary, mixes of ti-trees, banksias, wattles and other natives. When they ventured out into the open up between the picnic tables, then was the opportunity to get a snapshot.
no wren in this photo but I loved the mossy cover over the ground
After a bleak, cold-wet-windy weekend, no wonder they were enjoying their time out (like I was just seeing them). Missed getting the photo of the blue-boy that was there for a while, but happened upon another male fairy-wren in another location of the park
...the car-park in fact. Well it was just alongside more dense native shrubbery but while he landed out here I had to try get a photo in case there wasn't another chance amongst the greenery.

Beautiful photos, Carole! Those wrens are gorgeous little birds. The black/blue plumage is wonderful! Nice catch light in the eyes, too. If they're anything like our wrens, they don't stay in one spot for long.
ReplyDeletethey're so beautiful! love them!
ReplyDeleteCarole, beautiful photos. I love the cute wren, looks like it wears a mask on its eyes. And the fairy-wren is gorgeous. Lovely birds!

Hi there - The Frogmouth in my post is only found "up north" well outside both of our home patches!
ReplyDeleteThe Fairy Wrens are never easy to photograph - they more too fast! I think this type of photography is where digital is so valuable - you can just keep trying.
Thanks for linking to WBW.
