Location: Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo, N.S.W.  The first three images were within a walk-in aviary and the remainder, out in the open.

Diamond Firetail

Superb Parrot

Magpie-lark

Emu (our national bird emblem)

Juvenile or Jennies; Superb Fairy Wrens (I think that's the right species)

Willie-Wagtail

White-browed Babbler

Apostlebird

Purple Swamphen decided to sound off when we walked by her nesting spot

 Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo

Back on the farm again, sitting back with a cold drink late in the afternoon.
These White-plumed Honeyeaters did too.

I am favoring the Diamond Firetail also, with its red bill and red ringed eyes, of course they are all fantastic. Great series!

P.S. I also changed over to the new Blogger interface and didn't realize until now that it had reverted back to word verification. I fixed that real quick! Still not sure if I like it though.

  7. What a wonderful collection of birds. My favorite is the Diamond Firetail. But I do like the ballet that the Magpie-lark is doing.

  8. A wonderful series!
That red beak and eye really capture your attention on the Firetail.
The second shot of the Apostlebird shows lovely feathers. He's almost regal-like.
    All wonderful shots Carole!

  21. Enjoyed all these birds! Thanks carole.
I would love to see apostlebirds one day (we don't really get them much in victoria!) and it is a long time since I've seen a babbler. I'd be pretty certain you have the fairy wren right! I wonder if the waterbird may be a purple swamphen.

thanks for visiting Snap Happy Birding, and for leaving a comment; I can still see them. Now both my blogs are resting in idle mode. It was time to give other things priority, even though I miss my regular blogging and the feedback that came my way over the years. Take care.
