Round and about ..the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney

Australian native,  Queensland Bottle Tree (Brachychiton rupestris)

Tropical Centre "see, smell & touch heliconias, orchids and other exotic plants from misty mountains and lowland forests" reads the visitors guide.  Will include a walk inside on my next visit.

Lunch-time predators at the outdoors eating (Sacred Ibis).  Thank heavens the raucous singing bats nearby, chose to stay where they were.

Colour-treated water, surely; all part of the display?

  3. What a strange looking tree. I like the knees of the Ibis. But what were they thinking with that yellow water? Autumn is cute.

  12. What a special tree the bottle tree. I'm fascinated by the trees in Australia. They are such different shapes than trees here in Holland. Great close-up shot from the sacred ibis. I like the last statue. Is there a story behind this boy?

thanks for visiting Snap Happy Birding, and for leaving a comment; I can still see them. Now both my blogs are resting in idle mode. It was time to give other things priority, even though I miss my regular blogging and the feedback that came my way over the years. Take care.
