Noisy Miner

It's a shame this bird is so territorial, protecting its location fiercely.  In so doing, many of the sweet-natured smaller birds types are driven away

The antics though of the honey-eating Noisy Miner Manorina melanocephala, can be rather comical at bathing time.  I'm going to share some of my favourites taken in recent days, especially for those of you who haven't seen this bird before.  Sorry birds, that the dipping-bowl is down this day, but not out.

I'm thinking  ... if looks could kill.

Such funny-looking birds, Carole, I've never seen either them or their picture. The last photo is great, capturing the bird with such an expression!

  15. They do appear to be comical creatures. Love that yellow eye and the yellow streaks in the wing feathers.
The second image made me smile thinking of a conversation around the water bowl - like two men meeting on the street corner. :)

I love their antics. Bec & I came across a very interesting and very bold group of Noisy Miners in a park last week. I will post soon but I have so many birds waiting to be posted!!! I thought a bird a week would be hard but since I have been looking while out I now have so many. :)

thanks for visiting Snap Happy Birding, and for leaving a comment; I can still see them. Now both my blogs are resting in idle mode. It was time to give other things priority, even though I miss my regular blogging and the feedback that came my way over the years. Take care.
