The antics though of the honey-eating Noisy Miner Manorina melanocephala, can be rather comical at bathing time. I'm going to share some of my favourites taken in recent days, especially for those of you who haven't seen this bird before. Sorry birds, that the dipping-bowl is down this day, but not out.
I'm thinking ... if looks could kill.
Sharing with The Pine River Review for

ReplyDeleteA wonderful little bird to see Carole.. I laughed out loud at the expression of the one on the left in the last image..

They do appear to be comical creatures. Love that yellow eye and the yellow streaks in the wing feathers.
ReplyDeleteThe second image made me smile thinking of a conversation around the water bowl - like two men meeting on the street corner. :)
Hardly can capture the birds in so near angle..

ReplyDeleteGreat shots, Carole! I love those looks they are giving each other.
ReplyDeleteI love their antics. Bec & I came across a very interesting and very bold group of Noisy Miners in a park last week. I will post soon but I have so many birds waiting to be posted!!! I thought a bird a week would be hard but since I have been looking while out I now have so many. :)
I've never seen anything like this before! Love those big eyes and the expressive faces! You capture them so clearly and at just the right moments.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the jokers of the bird world. Inventive, clever and at times a real pest.
