Having a great time jumping in and out of the birdbaths in my back garden; it's the (noisy), Little Wattlebird Anthochaera chrysoptera.
On an early morning walk, the "golden sunshine" kind of flooded these pics. This Little Wattlebird was getting breakfast from a Strawberry Tree Arbutus unedo.
Carole, I love your photos of this bird and the beautiful foliage! You were able to get wonderful close-ups of him!! Especially love the one where his little beak was opened! Thanks for sharing a bit of your world for all of us to enjoy! hugs, Laura
WOW Carole!!! These are beautiful. I love how fluffy the baby is and such wonderful close ups of the Wattlebird feeding. Now I understand why you didn't post the Pelican for WBW (as I suggested in my comment)... these are amazing.
Hi Carole, wonderful shots of your wattlebird. It is so cute all puffed up from bathing. And I lov ethe shot with its mouth wide open. Thanks for sharing, have a great day.
I thought he was a very funny coloured bird, till I realized he was wet. When he is dry, he is much better looking. Maybe he was yelling at you for peeking, when he was in the bath!
thanks for visiting Snap Happy Birding, and for leaving a comment; I can still see them. Now both my blogs are resting in idle mode. It was time to give other things priority, even though I miss my regular blogging and the feedback that came my way over the years. Take care.
What wonderful pics. I enjoyed these so very much.
ReplyDeleteThat little wattlebird looks sort of porcupiney..... Very nice capture Carole

ReplyDeleteThat little guy looks a bit like the starlings we have in the Pacific Northwest (US)..(we spend summers there)
ReplyDeleteWattle bird? Perfect name. Isn't that just it with the sun? Never enough unless there's to much!
