The back sliding glass door has a shade-film protection; I can see out, but the blue-tongue couldn't see me lining up with the camera. They are so cautious, and their movements so slow, before they negotiate a new turn. A kookaburra would definately snap one of these up in a flash; thrashing them about and breaking their back. In fact this blue-tongue has no tail, beyond it's back legs; obviously had been caught out in it's younger days.
This first photo, the blue-tongue stayed like this for so long; needed to turn my camera off and wait more. Thinks it's a safe spot to come out, close by to an object, with the opportunity of a quick retreat if needed.
what a cute creature!
ReplyDeleteI had one in my horse's paddock the other day. Stayed in the same spot for the longest time, unfortunately I didn't have my camera :(
ReplyDeleteOh I love lizards! Have never seen this one so it was wonderful to learn about it. Love the photo with the lizard and the lovely white flowers.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I looked at the photos before I read the text. I didn't think that creature was for real! Holy cow, it's a big thing! Darling shots but I wouldn't want to be near it if it wasn't plastic! :-)
ReplyDeleteI see them on the Gold Coast.
ReplyDeletewhat a cutie!
